Advice on using groups in contacts

Hello Android users

I currently don't have a smartphone. However, I need to move into the 21st century.

I need your help before making my purchase.

The one great feature of Android that I like is the ability to sync my Goggle contacts with my phone.

My google contacts are neatly organised into labels, sometimes called groups. With my new phone, I want to maintain groups/labels when I synchronise.

So my question: Is groups & labels a feature on all Android devices or only on some.

Any other related help would be greatly appreciated.

NB: I have asked this query in reputable stores that sells phones but the sales staff failed to understand.

Thanks

I believe it's on all Android phones. If it's not on the one you buy, then you can always download a contacts app that will have it
But let's see if anyone disagrees.

Hello A bochur
Thank you for your reply.

I am surprised there is not much use or knowledge regarding labels. For me, it's such a useful feature. I like to subdivide my contacts into friends, work, etc.

I like your suggestion of a contacts app. I can use it as a plan-B if necessary.

Regards
