Im really disappointed with Oranges Iphone tarrifs etc.. I even loose my discount for loyalty if i go for the Iphone (how rude).. And have been offered a great deal on the HTC hero..

If i get this phone (having got a ipod touch and know what to expect with the iphone) will i be disappointed?

Also can i tether my laptop over via Wifi from the phone? My nokia has an app which allows me to do this.

I have an iPod Touch and a Hero and I'm really happy with this arrangement.

The Hero does most phone things as well or better than iPhone, see threads on multi-tasking, customisation, social networking etc etc.

To answer your question, I believe you can tether with Hero but I have not done it so not sure if it must be rooted or if it needs an app etc etc.
