I was thinking about giving this another shot, but am concerned about one of the features it's asking for access too.

What's that all about??? Why in gods name would they need that?

you can always send a email to the developper through the market, you have a option to the bottom. They are the best placed to answer your question

Probably because using the ADW launcher, you can make direct calls without using the Android or Sony Phonebook.

If you can long click on the desktop and call someone, or or phone back a call you missed, those count as Directly call phone numbers.

I think people read way too much into that stuff.

Considering there are literally millions of people that have downloaded and installed ADW Launcher, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you can create an icon or link using ADW Launcher that enables you to call someone, they have to put on that warning.

I'm not a fan of ADW Launcher....find it slow, but I wouldn't worry about that warning.

with the new virus threath over the android platform and the lack of control on the market. I would too check the permission twice.
