After 5 years goodbye iPhone, hello Galaxy S3

Hi folks

So after being on the iPhone/iOS platform since 2007, I've finally ditched my iPhone 4, cancelled my reservation for an iPhone 5 (through my wireless carrier) and got a 32GB Galaxy S3 last night. My first Android device.

Got a few n00b questions that maybe you guys can assist me with.

I have a pair of headphones Klipsch Image S4i, they are made for the iPhone. It looks like Klipsch now makes a similar pair for Android (the S4A), but these are $130 headphones and I want them to work with Android. So far the microphone doesn't work and the volume up/down buttons don't work. I can hear fine on them and the central call/answer button works, but volume up/down/mic Nope. Any ideas if a third-party app can fix this, or do you think its a hardware incompatibility with the headphones themselves?

I have found apps to help me choose what the center button on the headphones does, and that's great. But its kind of useless of the mic and volume controls don't work.

Oh... and welcome to the forums :)

Are you plugging the earphone plug in all the way. The S3 has a very tight connector in the phone and you have to push hard to get the earphone plug all the way in. If any part of the plug is showing it is not fully seated. You will be able feel the difference when it bottoms out.
