Help After rooting, will the Wifi Hotspot available?

Well I want to root my phone and turn it into a wifi hotspot, so i can use my asus eee pad transformer on the go. I seen posts saying not to download any wifi teathering apps and I didn't. So If i do root my phone will the wifi teathering work with ease?

wifi tethering is possible only after root.
even then some apps cause error 67
but most work fine
and error 67 is easily fixable

Just try to avoid the widgets like Power Controls, etc.. which have a button to toggle on/off hotspot/tethering. Those have been known to cause an error 67.

I've had success tethering my Galaxy tablet to my Elite using Wifi Tether for Root Users and Barnacle Wifi Tether.

I've heard that using the Transformer (not the Prime) with the ICS releases does not work for ad hoc connections, so in that case the two apps I just mentioned wouldn't work for you. However, I have read that using the FoxFi app on a phone with the PdaNet Tablet app on a Transformer running ICS will work using the Bluetooth tethering option. You may not be able to download FoxFi to your Elite from the Play Store because it has been blocked, but it was available from the Amazon Appstore the last time I checked. You can download FoxFi from FoxFi Installer. There is also an app called FoxFi AddOn which provides a proxy to help hide tethering usage from carriers.

Good luck.

Using FoxFi is perfectly safe on (rooted phones?) if you're using the bluetooth tether option. I have not tried usb tether.

If you don't know what error 67 is. Its an android feature that carriers took advantage of. Basically, you could disable it in the framework, if you knew just where to find it. Besides, its really simple to fix. dial ##786# thats the reverse logistics support. Hit reset, and have your msl handy. Its just that easy! You will need to program OTA again, but that't no biggie. btw, this is and will be an issue on all newer phones now. So a fix is something people need to start looking into. For instance the One V sense4 has the SAME problem once you get to the wifi app. Its even hidden pretty well. And the settings way to it FC's but you still get error 67.. Its basically switching out the info to talk to evdo but allowing the connection of wifi. Annoying if you ask me, but hey you got to see where the carriers come from this stance
