Looking at this as my GPS sometimes is bad...

Not sure which link to download?
I understand the Google on eis recommended , but then there are two , one normal and one with no 'ssl' - I have no idea what that means?

Which do I use?

Also , I have been looking at the following scripts, any had any experience in any of them ?

Did you ever change the GPS Conf file (as per another thread on this subject a while ago)? I have made a copy of the file on my SD card and have to replace it each time I flash a new ROM... don't have any issues with my GPS though, once I've replaced the file :)
 
I have replace the oringial gps.conf with the new one.
Not sure if it was just because I was inside my house and it was ever so slightly cloudy , but it used to work....

I would check now , but it's chucking it down now!

Just entered GPS Status on my phone and left it near the window. Usually ( like llast time ) I would get 5-7 sats in 30-80seconds.

OK, went back and got 5 sats with 60m error. Seems like a 'cold reset' did the trick :)


So, would I be ok with what I have now? DO the other tricks do pretty much the same thing ?

I don't generally get a lock when I'm indoors... to be honest though, I don't use the GPS very much on my DHD!
 
I don't use it much either... but I have tried to get direction to a place from my location and ( before the fix you showed me ) I couldn't do it.

I think of it as more of a backup feature in case I get lost , and also for geo tagging
