I got into a bit of a debate in another forum seeing how my old 1 gb phones (Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Atrix hd 4g) both had lagging issues while running Android Jellybean but my newer phones like the Sony Xperia ZL and Oneplus One (current phone) which has 2+ GB RAM does not have lag.

This has to do with Chinese phone manufacturers who produce budget phones with octa-core processors but then skimp out on the RAM and only give you 1 gb.

Do you agree that Android needs a minimum of 2 gb like how Windows needs a minimum of 4 gb of RAM?

My gut feeling is that 1gb is more than enough to run JB. I have two legacy devices that ran it fine before getting updates.
Be interesting to see the responses here though :thumbsupdroid:
Although I'd guess they'll run kitkat better.
In any case, my newest 3gb phone seems to run much better than my 1gb ones but then it has a much faster cpu so I don't know....

I think it all comes down to what you are going to use the phone for really! I only use mine to text, check and answer emails, and download videos from YouTube or watch ones sent to me on What's app. For all this 1gb is fine. If I had more it would be great of course, lol, but for what I use the phone it's more than satisfactory!
