Help Ahhh phone has been locked! :(

Hey all,

My friend has got an Xperia U, he decided to give it to their 3 year old to shut him up a little (in the nicest way of course), don't ask how, but his child has decided to put a lock pattern on and now he can't access it.

Is there anyway of getting this sorted out? I've just looked online and Im reading about updating the firmware, but he won't know if he has an ST25i or ST25a version. Is there a back sticker that will show him what version he's got?

I did tell him to try the power button and down volume button, and he did try the clear userdata but obviously the user data is just for pics/vids etc.. and not actually clearing it to factory settings.

Any help please :)

Cheers

If you are talking about a screen lock password, then after a fixed number of incorrect entries your phone should prompt you for the password for the gmail account the phone is registered to. If that doesn't work, shut off the phone, log into the gmail account on a website and change the password using Google's password recovery. Once the new password is confirmed, turn on the phone and try using the new password.

The above only works if your friend has 3G or WIFI enabled... if not, then they would have to factory reset the phone. The factory reset option would mean that they would loose all data from the phone
