air conditioner on/off app?

hey is there such an application that you can turn off and on your AC with your phone??

be nice to be able to turn it on before you get home to save $$$

There are apps, but they require your home to be wired with a home automation system. You cant do that without some kind of control system in your home.

You could use something like Schlage Link... but it requires a specific Trane thermostat and a monthly service fee.
