ok. turned on airplane mode accidentally one day. Now everytime I reboot the nook it leaves wifi off by default even though airplane mode has been turned off.

How do I get it back to turning on wifi with every reboot?

no luck with that thread. It's annoying but I may just do a complete wipe and restore the apps afterwards.

What do you mean "no luck"?

From Terminal window

Type:

su

then copy and paste (or type) the following, one line at a time:

Code:
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
delete from system where name = 'airplane_mode_on';
.exit
exit
exit
reboot and see if that fixes the problem.

That has to be easier than a wipe. :D

Well I gave it the old college try and this time it worked. Not sure what I missed the first time but "YOU DA MAN"
Thanks

No, I'm the NAG.

I'm guessing you typed something wrong. :D

Now I need to find an old version of Android Assistant, but my wife's NC has the free version of TIBU so only has the current version and my phone didn't have it.

ok you're a nag. This time I just cut and paste the lines so yeah I'm guessing I screwed something up.

It was kind of annoying with that glitch.

Now that the HP Touchpad also has the problem, they're going to try to fix it on the CM7 side, which means you'd have to upgrade to nightly build, when it gets to that point.

sweet I may have to put my nook up for sale and work on getting the HP when it's publicly available.

What do you know about some of the other Roms that show up when I look at updates? Such as MIUI? Anything 'better' about some of these roms?

I have MIUI on my DroidX and like it a lot.

On the NC, it doesn't use the HoneyComb style (tablet tweaks) back, home, menu buttons and instead uses Button Savior buttons, which just ruins it for me.

Still, you can update to MIUI via Rom Manager, create a backup, and give it a try. You might need to wipe data too (I did). :D

thanks for the info. Not that I plan on doing it again, but nice to know it's getting fixed.

I'm liking the tablet as a plaything but still finding out it really doesn't have much practical use in my life. I'm taking a business trip near months end. I'll have to see how much time I get during the flight to play with it.
