Alarm Not Working After Update

I goofed and ran the update to Android 10. I should know better! I don't notice any improvements but now my alarm doesn't work (I was only a little bit late to my job). I have rebooted numerous times and tried changing every setting I can think of. Here is a clue. It works if the alarm app is open but not if it is closed. Any ideas? Thanks!

Go to settings > apps, bring up your alarm app and remove any battery optimizations, that would be my guess.

Are you using this alarm app or just the included alarm function? If the app, you might want to make sure the developer tested it with Android 10. Tou might also try going into settings>apps and clearing the data and cache for the alarm. Keep in mind that will clear all your settings and you'll have to reset your alarms.

Worst case would be a factory reset. After a major upgrade that's a good idea anyway.
