Album art - mediascape

I have searched hi and lo but can't work this out!

I have 330 music files on my sd card, and each time i open mediascape a few of them have an album art image associated with them, but i can't find the files to delete them!!

I have tried the 'dcim / thumbs' file, i have cleared cashe for mediascape and media storage and any other thumbnail files i could find - but some of them still persist!! I have disabled artwork downloads for mediascape and poweramp so it's not that they are coming back, i just can't find them anywhere!!!
Any ideas greatly appreciated!!!!
 
The only thing I can think of (having tried to get album artwork on my two tracks on my phone without it but it wouldn't do it) is to allow the function again, get the artwork for an album and then use Linda file manager and sort your sd card files by date modified and see which one was most recently changed.

Unless someone already knows and can tell you!
 
You must have read my mind - i am doing exactly that now!!!! But big thx to you rosered, always helpful suggestions! will let you know how it goes!!

No joy i'm afraid, found the files created today, then checked the locations - only the new ones are there :(

I have also used search on root explorer to search for .jpg/.jpeg and 'thumb' - but i still cannot locate these annoying files :(

Now i know it's petty, tiny and almost insignificant, but you know what it's like - the smallest things cause the biggest pain in the android...

Anyone have any other ideas??!!??
 
It's probably that the artwork is embedded in the MP3 meta-data.

You'll need an MP3 tag editor to get rid of it, such as this one (never used it, so don't know if it's any good). Or perhaps iTunes as I know that does embed art on the Mac. Mind you, I'd use iTunes as the last resort because it's a virus ;-)

You rock!! I had even re-flashed the phone and they still came back, you were right - they were embedded and the NCH software worked a treat, just selected all tracks, deleted image and click STAMP and voila, no more annoying images!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much, this was baking my noodle :)

btw, imo - virus is being nice to itunes ;) I would have gone with plague/curse and other banned words! ;)

What's your reason behind deleting the Cover Art? I've got 4gb+ of MP3's on my phone, and I'm having the opposite circumstance where not all of the covers are being downloaded successfully. I think it's a great feature to have the cover art displayed when the screen is on.

The embedded a/w was naff quaility - and some images were incorrect - being as i'm a fussy so and so i just wanted rid!!!!
I have since used PowerAmp to get covers and allocated some of my own with the NCH software!
