How do I create my own personal photo albums?

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.
On my HTC One if I longpress any photo in my gallery, an option menu opens. Two of the options are 'copy to' and 'move to'. If I tap either of those a new screen opens with existing albums displayed. At the top left it says 'Select album' and top right there is a '+' icon. If I tap the plus icon it allows me to create a new album with a name of my choosing into which the photo will be copied or moved. The new album appears in the 'existing albums' for successive copy/move actions.
