Help Alcatel one touch huge problem! Help!

well I hope someone can help me, as this problem is effecting not just the tablet but it's affecting me;/ as a 19 year old, music means a huge ton to me... And about a week ago I came out of college, put my headphones in on my Alcatel one touch and it shows the headphone symbol on the top, but when I put my headphones in I cant hear a thing, but when I unplug them I can?? Also, there apple earphones as I have a iPhone 5 but I have tried my earphones on my laptop and they work fine. Also brought new earphones, some more money than others. I have tried cleaning inside the socket, but nothing seems to work. And btw if you don't know, which i think you will I'm talking about a tablet;/ I really need this fixed and I don't care if I have to pay to get it fixed anymore, but not going to lie it would be nice if I can sort it at home. Help will be appricted:)

Have you installed any audio software on your phone lately (bass boosters, equalizer, etc.)? If so, try uninstalling them, then try again. If not, a simple reboot may help.

I have a app where I play all my music, but if I uninstall it, it will lose everything. Thankyou for your help:) will reboot now and see if that helps, any other tips??

Also, just tried playing my ringtone with my earphones in, and now it has the ear phone symbol, but it is coming outside of the tablet and can't hear it through the headphones??

Try it with another set of earbuds. If they work, then it may be a matter of compatibility.
I have tried loads of earphones as I said in the thread, and none work. They work on my laptop and iPhone and there all different types, some are Apple, some are the earphones that came with the tablet... So I'm really confused. Remember that all these earphones do work fine, just not in my tablet. Also I have tried cleaning the inside of the headphones slot 7 times or more

Then unfortunately, that may be an issue that you would have to take up with your manufacturer. It sounds like a hardware problem... Sorry I couldn't help anymore, but I'm not really familiar with tablets...

Okay thankyou for helping, your help and care is really appricted :) music means a lot to me ha:p I will take it to my local repair shop tomorrow , again thankyou very much:)

An Alcatel (TCL) tablet with a possible broken headphone jack. If it's nothing simple like cold soldering or the jack itself is duff and can be replaced. You might be buying a new tablet.
