Aldiko came on the Coby tablet. It simply will not work right.
I bought 3 books from Booksamillion, (epub) Aldiko will import one but not the other two. It is registered to read DRM.
Aldiko will not open any PDF files, either. These files do not have any DRM as most are informational, like star charts and geology tracts (.gov or .edu)
Aldiko won't even open them. I had to install PDF reader, which does open the files which look as expected, so they shouldn't be corrupted. Or some I have created using Adobe Illustrator.
It seems like Aldiko is boycotting anything from Feedbooks, Booksamillion, Project Gutenberg and PDFs from a site like a National Park. Is it geared to DRM publications only?
I've asked in a tablet forum, emailed Aldiko, and have no answer.
I should be able to buy books where I please if the site is legal. Booksamiilion is, so are a few other resellers. I don't want to deal with Amazon or B&N.
The tablet is running Froyo 2.2 - has been tweaked to allow Market but not rooted. If I decide to root it, Aldiko will be the first to go!
