Root All apps very slow on razr maxx please help!

So Ive had my Razr Maxx since October, back when it was the king of all Droids and Smartphones in general, in fact. Recently though, games that used to run so perfectly have now begun lagging out to the point where performance, even on a phone as nice as this one, is becoming an issue. The thing that worries me the most of all is the fact that the games that are currently lagging are not hard games to run such as Dead Trigger on High quality but rather games you would expect to be easy to run...

NOTE: My device is highly modified. I have upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and have it rooted. I have edited databases as well as modified Kernels and attempted OverClocking with no success (restored to default clocks). If this is a problem please let me know!

Games With Issues:
- Ninja Fruit Free
- Hill Climb Racing
- StrikeFleet Omega
- Dead Trigger on LOW
- Mupen 64 (Nintendo 64 Emulator) on Super Smash Bros

Welcome to Android Forums. I moved your question to where root-ed phones are discussed.

... Thom

Thank you for your correcting me on where to post my topic. I was wondering if you knew who to go to regarding my RAZR MAXX issues. As you can see I havent been able to get an answer regarding this issue.

Have you done a Factory Data Reset at all recently (especially since doing any major system upgrades)? If not, I'd highly recommend trying that.

I will un-root and try that tonight and post results tomorrow. I was trying to avoid a factory reset because I have important information locked down on my phone but that is ok, I will attempt moving everything to my installed 64GB external SanDisk Micro-SD. Does anyone know if Motomizer (app) Expert Edition's User App backup will restore after a Factory Data Reset? My 4G LTE usage just reset today (bills are always on the 13th for me, resets on mornings of 14th's) and I do not want to use all of my data this early in the month to download all of my apps again.

Also, when I restore my apps, will they restore their connection to Google Play for updates or will they be like APKs you download off a browser and only update if you uninstall, find, and install latest version?

Just as a side note, Motimizer Expert is the app I used for overclocking. On ICS it worked flawlessly, on JB it seems the System Kernel is too locked down and every time I set CPU values it defaults to stock after about 20-30 minutes. CPU Governor and RAM property mods stick well but frequencies do not. I hit 1350 MHz max (1200 stock) on ICS with no problems other than quite noticable heat under benchmarking, but it was stable and undamaged. Highest I ever got was 1375 MHz but I backed off a bit to stay safe. Gotta find some way to use that extra large 3300 mAh battery!

I tried what was you suggested yesterday and it did not work. The apps were still very slow and so I decided on a custom ROM to try and make things run a bit smoother... but things just got worse...

My Razr MAXX is now bricked.

Here is what happened:

Per instrutions VIA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385283 I download Razr Bootstrap and then selected "Bootstrap" in menu, then rebooted. On startup it just shows a screen saying "Encryption unsuccessful... data on your phone is no longer accessible. To resume using your phone, you must perform a factory data reset..."

I press the "Reset Phone" button and it reboots, does the reset (or so it says, then fails and goes back to the same screen after boot.

Keep in mind because this failed before a backup, I have NO BACKUPS! What do I do? I'm going to make a new thread asking for help.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about that.

I would have recommended using Titanium Backup to backup your apps and data to SD. Sorry I'm getting back to you when the bridge has already been crossed.
