Root [ALL] FIX your 3G Speed NOW! [PLEASE READ]

MIUI doesn't have those lines in the build file so I guess I'm out of luck.

You could always make a Miui nandroid backup in CWM, flash back to CM7, run the procedure, test to see if it helped. If not, just flash back to MIUI and you didn't loose anything. If it helped with CM7 then flash back to MIUI and do some investigating with your script manger, file manager, and terminal emulator of choice.

If these lines are not in the build.prop would it cause a ill effect to add them and if no, where would these lines be added to the build.prop?

(Rom) = Froyocream Sandwich v2.0

My current speed test for 3G is:
ping = 233 ms
down = 397 kbps
up = 222 kbps

The fix discussed in this thread is for CM7 ROMs- I don't believe Froyo ROMs use the same lines in their build.prop. My experience with Virgin Mobile service is that you can expect anything from .2 to 2MB depending on the time of day & location- it is highly variable.

Thank you for the info i wont play with this one then .

Glad to help!

I never had a problem with data speeds on any of the Froyo ROMs, including Froyocream. If it does seem like you are having data issues, try doing a full wipe & then reflashing the ROM.
hey my 3g is OK it is just kinda in and out most likely my coverage but on the VM map it says i am in a strong zone i thought maybe this would help to strengthen the connection and keep it from fluctuating so much.

From what I understand, the network speed is related to traffic, and Sprint customers have priority over prepaids like VM. As for the actual signal fluctuation, it can depend on a lot of factors.

I'm not able to save the file.. used root explore(mount as r/w) to open it in jota but it won't save...?

edit: also tried changing permissions in root explorer then editing, sane thing.
