What is This?
This is an exploit built by djrbliss. This zip contains the proper drivers for the Spectrum, all root files, and the Root&RecoveryAIO.bat file. The .bat has been modified to fix ANY of the problems people are having with root, and will make it so that CWM will stick through reboot. It installs the newest versions of the su binary and Superuser.apk. It will also install ClockWorkMod Recovery or stock recovery. The unroot will uninstall and delete the su binary and remove Superuser.apk. It will also remove CWM and install the stock recovery.img. If there are any problems, just let me know.

Warning
This now includes the Touch Recovery ported by Neph81. The recovery seems fully functional, but can only be accessed right now through an app or the all in one itself. The button combination will result in a bootloop. For more information see the link at the bottom for Neph81!!! If your phone bricks, or bootloops it is no one's fault but your own. How Do I Root and Install CWM?:
1) Download zip and extract
2) Install drivers if not already installed
3) Enable USB debugging on phone
4) Connect phone to computer
5) Select internet mode in pull down
6) Select ethernet in pop up
7) Click Root&RecoveryAIO.bat
8) Select what you would like to do

I am already rooted and have non touch cwm installed. How would I go about just installing the touch cwm from the files provided here?
 
The phone was already rooted with cwm installed when I got it and I just assumed it wasn't the touch based recovery. That's because when I flashed touch cwm on my tbolt the font in cwm got really large and it was obvious that it was meant for making it easier to select stuff.

Then again I should have just realized the version # was the touch one lol

following directions: first thing I do with the tool is root (then reboot) it so I can put cwm and then nandroid the phone ROM and save to sd card then reboot again then put other stuff on it, yes?:D

Actually if you're looking to Root and install CWM, the AllInOne directions above can do both at the same time. Remember to take your time and follow the directions from every small detail.

There's no need to reboot after doing a nandroid backup. Coming from unrooted stock, these are the steps I took before flashing a rom:

  1. Use option #1 in the 'All in one' tool
  2. After the phone rebooted, use option #2 in the 'All in one' tool
  3. Installed Rom Manager from the Play Market
  4. Chose 'Reboot into Recovery' in Rom Manager (this will do a soft reboot into cwm)
  5. Chose 'backup' in cwm

After that, choose 'install zip from sd card', navigate to where you have the downloaded rom, select it and let cwm work its magic. Then, in cwm, choose 'reboot system now' and when it does, the new rom should load.

Note that you don't have to do options 1 and 2 separately... you can use #3 in the tool, but I prefer to do them separately, just in case there is an issue, I can track down where it happened. I'm overly cautious, though, so don't think you need to do the steps separately; the tool is perfectly fine at doing both for you. :)

also a data wipe may be required before flashing the new rom.
