All ringtones, alarms etc. changed

Two days ago all of my ringtones, message notification tones and the two alarms I had set up randomly changed to other things. In fact they all changed to The White Stripe songs that I had on my phone, three songs from the end of an album were all used.

When I clicked to change them back, these songs were not even selectable (I think to select a song as a ringtone from the list it has to be in a certain directory, and my MP3 collection certainly isn't).

I am seriously so confused. It's like the choice of ringtones, alarm tones etc. has been randomly corrupted. The fact it changed them all to songs one after the other from the same album suggests the same.

Has anyone had this happen? I thought I was going mad because it kept playing a new song every time something happened. It was especially confusing in the morning when I was woken up by a song I didn't choose and my brain was all groggy from sleep trying to make sense of it.

It also changed my Whatsapp message notification noise to "It's True That We Love One Another" and it just plays enough for them to say "Well it's true that we love... one another. I love Jack White like a little brother". Since the change coincided with me updating Whatsapp and because the amount of song played fits exactly with the lyrics, I seriously thought it was an intentional update from Whatsapp (and because I forgot I had this song in my MP3 collection and hadn't heard it in ages), until I realised it was playing a new song for EVERYTHING that happened on my phone.
