Help All Ringtones Default When Turning Phone Off

Rachacha

Lurker
I have had my Elite for a week now. Every time I turn my phone off or the battery dies, all my ringtones default. All of the ringtones are currently on my SD card. It resets my phone and notification ringtone, in addition to my custom contacts ringtones. When selecting them, I always choose complete the action using "Android System" instead of Handcent or Zedge.

I had an Optimus V for a year and a half, and I never had this problem. I am currently using GoLauncher EX as a launcher, because I am unable to customize the navigation bar in the default launcher. I despise the MobileID option. I don't use this. I don't why it needs to be there.

Anyways, does anyone know why this is happening, or how I may be able to fix it? Thank you!

I don't know the solution but would love to hear it. I experience the same problem. I haven't changed the launcher. Actually, mine seems to go back to default even if I don't turn off or reset the phone.

Is anyone able to set a custom ring tone to a file you put on the SD card and have it presist. I have tried to put the ring tones in several locations... in all cases the ring tone did show on the list to set to.

Not sure if it matters, but I have my ringtones, alarms, and notifications on the internal SD and have never needed to re-assign them. If you have them on the external SD maybe you could try moving them to the internal.

This was discussed before and the solution as Ranhead mentioned he did, move to internal SD.

Works for me except when MobileID decides to activate itself and change everything back. This seems to happen at random odd intervals. Sometimes days apart, sometimes weeks. Since I've been using ADB launcher I just have to change ADB back to the default launcher and everything is back the way I had it. When I was still using stock launcher I would have to go back and change everything back manually. That was tremendously annoying.

You may be another victim of Sprint's MobileID crapware. Best solution is to change to another launcher.

When you connect your Elite to a computer, the internal SD shows as a 2GB drive. Create three directories: ringtone, notification, alarms --- in the internal SD and put your files into them.

Or you could use an explorer app on your phone ...... I prefer using a real keyboard and all my music/ringtones are on the computer anyway :-)
