Allow streaming video in background?

Is their either a trick or an application that would let a video that is being streamed to loads in the background and allow you to move to another application or back to the browser while the video loads?

As soon as I get off screen from the video player, all is lost.

Ill be searching for something similar to this today! although search results brought nothing, I'm sure such a process will require root or a whole new browser, Im using dolphin HD and am curious as to if they may have a plug in of some sort, ill report back with findings after awhile
