I am pretty savvy when it comes to tec but i am pretty stumped. And search the web for the issue but still no joy.
Allshare or samsung link not working or showing other devices when all using the app
Ok i have a few samsung items in the house.
Three s2 phones (GT-I9100) android version 4.1.2 kernal 3.0.31-1211311
One tablet (GT-P7510) android version 4.0.4 kernal 3.1.1
One tv (ue55f6800) fully updated. Series 6
Check list none of the devices can see each other using the app
I rang samsung some three hours later finally got the tv to work only by using wifi direct!
Points covered on phone...
Phones settings nearby devices file sharing enabled yes
Into wifi and wifi direct add devices at the same time into tv and searching for wifi direct both then search and see each other happy days. Then samsung link works on phone to tv. Obvious point the tv is connected to the same network and is online.
On to the tablet and there is no icon for wifi direct so cant link.
Moving away from wifi direct why can each device not see each other? Must be a router issue so i logged in to the router and disabled all network income and outgoing firewalls still they can not see each other.
So keeping the file sharing box ticked when going into samsung link it brings a message. ...........there is no nearby device (smart tv included) on the same wifi network
Not just a tv issue tho as the phones cant see the tablet either
I also tried hard wiring the tv to the router....
most annoying thing is my dad has a series 6 tv too but its a lower model like f6510 (i think) as soon as a walk into his house im on his network and i can just send pictures to the tv without worrying about setting up the wifi direct.
Do you think it could be my router? Its sky latest
When i quizzed samsung about why i have to use wifi direct they said its how this model works and that my dads tv (the lesser model) had different software..... Still cant understand why i have to use the direct and not over the wifi grrrr lol
Other points covered i thought i would test the wireless part of the tv so downloaded a smart remote control for the tab interestingly it wouldnt contect to the tv using the wireless ip so i hard wired the tv and used the new ip and then the remote worked.... Odd its almost link the tv is accepting wifi in but not out?
