Root Aloysius ROM Brings Missing Apps From Android Market.

I have seen a lot of posts saying that people once they rooted they lost access to some of the apps they had with android 1.5.

This is an HTC hero rom that was ported over to the eris that I am running right now. With this rom which is running 2.1 you will get access to the protected apps on the market (the apps that come up missing). Read the known bugs section though. Included is an app that circumvents the power down hang and I actully like using it more then shutting down the phone the convential way hope this helps. People running eris with 2.1 don't have access because it has not been officially released yet. As always do a Nandroid backup if you decide to use this ROM.

I tried this ROM and every time I try to flash it I get an error on installation.
E:Failure at line 2:
assert getprop("ro.product.devic
installation aborted.

I tried downloading it several times and all do the same thing. I've checked out the forum on your link and that question was asked but it was basically ignored. any ideas?

Download it from Grdlocks site that is posted on xda. That is the ROM that I downloaded and flashed and it worked great.

ya download from gridlocks site ....

very stable and fast rom

oh and pics in gmail work and battery life is great
 
I leaked too :o. Luckily my phone had a mic issue, and I needed a replacement. Now I'm on this rom and loving it. Was wondering though does anybody use the Clock app that comes with it? I use it when its on the desktop cradle I have by my bed at night and it force closes when you try to access your music. Anyone else have this issue?
 
Thanks for the heads up on this....I was able to load Aloysius, download my TV.com app pull the apk file and install it on the rom I was using that wasn't showing the private apps...this was the one and only downside to rooting for me as I really like being able to watch NCIS on my phone lol...now i can....
