For Boost Mobile ZTE Max N9520 only.

Let me know how it goes if anyone wants to test it :)

Current Features:

Overclocked to 1.56GHz (stock is 1.18GHz)
Underclocked to 162MHz (stock is 384MHz)
Default to stock frequencies
init.d support added
Insecure adb added
Wheatley governor added

Install:
Flash from custom recovery just like a rom. No need to wipe anything first. If you don't know how to flash a zip from recovery, you should not be using an OC kernel :p

For init.d:
In order to use init.d scripts, you must have /etc/init.d directory on your device.
You must also have busybox installed in /system/xbin.

You can flash this file to add the init.d directory, add busybox, and set the correct permissions

Note:
If you need an app to control your cpu settings, this one is nice and free Kernel Adiutor

Stock kernel:
Flash this to revert to stock kernel

It boots! I'll be playing around with it a little bit tonight, but I'm not gonna try any init.d tweaks until tomorrow.

So far, great. I haven't done anything performance intensive yet, but under the Wheatley governor I feel like I'm getting better battery life.
 
Basic performance is the same. I haven't had the chance to test it out on any system heavy games yet.

Appreciate the under clock. That should improve battery life even further than it already had.

Performance has definitely increased for me. I was running Shadowrun: Dragonfall earlier with a lot better FPS than I had experienced on the stock kernel.

Hopefully we can hear from a few more people about their results, but either way, thanks again SuperR!
 
@SuperR any way you can bump this up to 1.9 or 2 ghz? i'd imagine its possible cause the zte awe has a kernel capable of 2ghz and i think it has the same or simmilar chipset.

I will be playing with it today. Not sure about 1.9 or 2 GHz yet. Tried 2GHz on the Warp 4G and it boot loops. Yes, the Awe has a kernel that will do it, but most of the Awe devices are only stable at 1.7Ghz.
 
New version in OP. It does not seem exciting at first glance as the speed appears to have gone down. However, the original 1600MHz was inaccurate. It was really running at 1.45GHz. Sorry for the confusion, but you should notice a significant performance increase over version 1 and 1-1 :) More to come when I get some time ;)
 
Awesome. Im downloading now. Ive been running mine prior to this at 1.18 ghz performance gov. Since youve dipped into the phones performance can you suggest an i/o scheduler and what size to set read ahead buffer. Well read and write?
