In case you have problems with root explorer, I found that ES File Explorer can be used if you change the default settings and enable root options, select HiAPK ROM. Allows you to the mount the /system and /data folders. I found it very useful in deleting unwanted apps (i.e. AxT9IME.apk, the samsung keyboard app)
