Alternative Apps

Hi,
I used to use Go SMS Pro as my text message app but it no longer sync's with Facebook to use my contacts Facebook avatars... and I hate looking at blank outlines!

What other SMS apps can do this? I believe Handcent does it, but the reviews aren't that good and apparently it's now full of Ads.

I'm using a HTC One Mini 2

Try Textra, it uses Facebook and G+ contacts (at least it does for me).

If that doesn't work, try Sliding Messaging or Evolve.

Hi... thanks for that. I've installed Textra but other than it using your contact list I don't see any further options for using the contacts Facebook Avatars?

Does it matter whether your contacts app is using pictures from FB? I could imagine text apps picking up FB pictures that way without having explicit FB integration.

(I don't even have FB installed so cannot test this theory).

You can go with TEXTRA. I got mine a while ago from /** mod redacted link**/ and it's worth it.
