Alternative for Buddies

I want to is another launcher program but i really like how i can use the Samsung buddies now program to text and call quickly from my desktop...anyone know of a program from the market that would be good?

I just created shortcuts to a person, then made them immediately text message. I don't really know of any apps though.

Here is how to make the shortcut:

Click and hold the background on your desktop > click Shortcuts >Click Person > Pick Person > then pick what you want the shortcut to do.
