Alternative Launchers

Maybe one of you guys can answer this for me. I'm pretty much between the GNex and the Rezound as my next phone (It's been 6 months since I've been able to upgrade). I currently have an Incredible and after a while I got bored with Sense and put Launcher7 on it. I've grown to like it, but that got me thinking, how will custom launchers like Launcher7 work on ICS if there are no capacitive buttons?

The launcher won't change. The button overlay is completely separate from the launcher.

Custom launchers will work just fine - don't worry about it.

I was wondering that same thing.....i have CM7 with launcher pro running on my incredible ( not a huge fan of sense) .....good to hear form someone that this shouldn't be an issue.

I'm surprised this question is being asked, I realize that Android is the OS of customization, but would you really want to change launchers without atleast giving the ICS launcher a shot? From whats been shown so far it seems to have at least some of the customability of some of the available launchers on the market, minus the scrolling dock in Go Launcher which I like to use. Not harping on you for asking really, just more curious as to why? Kinda like changing the tires on a new car without actually driving on them to see how they perform.

Plus it may take a while for launchers to be updated for ICS depending on how much of the code has changed. Then again with the SDK being released the devs may already be on it. <--- conflicting much?

I was asking out of curiosity since custom launchers are one of the things that set android apart from the other OS's. What if after using ICS I decided I wanna go back to my original launcher for a while or try another launcher. If not for ICS I wouldn't have waited for the GNex but that doesn't mean I still don't want to have a choice in launchers.

This is more like wanting to make sure the set of winter tires I got for my original car will still fit on my new car, when I want to switch for a little while I don't want there to be any problems.
