Help Alternative light weight solution to replace gallery

I would like to know if there are any users that have a recommendation for a replacement to gallery, if possible.

I look at pics quite often on my phone as i can't get through the day without seeing my daughter a bunch of times to remind me why I do what I do.

The problem being that the gallery is always in my list eating up my battery.
Are there any alternatives to gallery for the connect, and after finding said alternative, can the gallery be frozen on this phone without a major fail?
 
I would definitely suggest using QuickPic.

Operates very smooth, you have the option to hide/exclude folders. Very customizable, I'm using the ICS style menu.

I have deleted stock gallery from samsung admire and just ran Quickpic, worked fine, without a problem.
But I am not so sure about deleting Stock Gallery on LG Connect, I have froze it using Titanium Backup and had no issues.

This help quite a lot. I am a nut for freezing apps or deleting apps that do nothing for me or is good for the phone.

I am very very glad i can freeze this S.O.B.

Going to try both recommendations a.s.a.p.

Any more pic apps other users like is also welcome, as variety is the spice of life :D

They are both the same apps lol
I'll find an alternative just in case xP

quickpic is the best choice that I've found. It sorts your pics into their respective folders, it plays gifs and different movie files. Extremely light on the memory and it runs quick. What more can you want?
 
just installed quickpic and it is definitely a great sub to the stock gallery im in loVe even better multiple pic view all the same option and some more
 
I have quickpic too, so I'm glad to see I can delete my stock gallery. Now can I delete my stock messenger since I use Handcent, or at least freeze it?
