Alternative to HDMI

In general I'm very pleased with my new Galaxy S6. However, I was disappointed to learn that Samsung made the phone no longer compatible with the MHL to HDMI adapter. With my Galaxy S4 I could plug my HDMI connector into my phone and TV. I would then use a bluetooth controller, effectively creating a mini gaming system on my phone. Why did Samsung remove this feature? Is there any alternative? I don't like wireless options such as Chromecast because I highly doubt that it gets the same frame rate as a wired solution. Maybe it can keep up with videos because it has the chance to buffer the frames but I'm willing to bet there is a loss of quality when it comes to gaming. Thanks for any suggestions.

Chromecast doesn't screen cast for movies, Chromecast apps are just controllers, video streams directly to the Chromecast, not the phone.

You can screen cast movies, there's a constant lag for video transcoding. I haven't used it for gaming but other apps seem to work without lag while screen casting.

If you don't trust it, go with Miracast, the Fire TV Stick is pretty good. If you could live with MHL lag, that's probably close as you'll get for screen cast gaming.

There are no wired alternatives.
