Alternative ways to sync Exchange without adding account

I'm still trying to find ways to use my Exchange account without necessarily adding it to my S5 device, because features such as the fingerprint authentication are absolutely amazing and I won't go without it.

Anyways, for email I've found that CloudMagic works perfectly, since I don't need to add the account directly to my device and it syncs email just perfectly fine.

I'm still trying to figure out how to sync calendars, however. Does anyone know of an app that's similar to CloudMagic in that it syncs exchange calendars without me needing to add the exchange account to my device?

There was a time when only the personal calendar could be sync 'd, not the room/shared calendar(s). I use Touchdown, and that's the way it is. RDP is what I use on a larger device.

I just spent a couple hours working with CloudMagic and do believe that it is going to be my new default email app on my S5.

I have just uninstalled MyMail which was my preferred email app, but CloudMagic is much cleaner, way faster, and accurately links to all of the folders in my email accounts.

Still looking for how to change the notification feature on it. I'm not to hip on getting beeps for every single piece of stuff folks send. Wanted to change it to a different sound. Oh well, can handle that in Applications Manager I suppose.

Thanks for telling us about this app. Way cool.

No problem! CloudMagic is extremely great and now I'm also using this as my primary email app. The most beneficial feature is that you can delete an email and/or mark it as read from the notification tray. This is convenient when you're using Cerebus and the fingerprint reader isn't detecting your fingerprint, thus causing several annoying emails from Cerebus. Lol.

I've emailed the developers for this app and they mentioned that email synchronizing is on their to-do list, so hopefully this doesn't take too long.

The touchdown app is great for having a separate app to check things with my exchange account, but I wish I could integrate this with my calendar widget on the home screen.

Thanks for mentioning this app though.

Hi all,

I was dealing with the same issue, how to have my pro account (email and calendar) without having to enter a 8 digits passcode each time I want to use my phone.
Cloudmagic is a wonderfull tool for emails, but I doubt that it is really secure.

The best app I found is "Nine". It allows to sync e-mails and calendar with your main calendar, and prompt for the passcode only when you want to open the app.
You get the e-mail notifications and calendar synchronized without entering the app.
After some days, you have to pay for it. If you don't pay you can still keep it in background only for calendar sync, it will still do the job.
