AM/FM App?

Soze

Lurker
Do Android powered phones have the capabilities of picking up radio stations? I'm not looking for an app that has preset stations, but rather one with a "dial" that I can program. The reason is, my gym has TV's with the sound set to custom radio stations and I'd rather not buy an AM/FM device if I can use my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with any phones that have an AM or FM radio built in. It's a matter of hardware, not software.

The Moto Cliq purportedly has this feature, but it is not stock.

On some quick research, the HTC Legend, Salsa, Buzz, and Bravo have FM radios. Not sure if any are current models.

The HTC Incredible has an FM radio also. The headphones have to be plugged in to act as an antenna.

The reception on mine is lousy, I know you need to plug in headphones to use it, but does anyone know if an antenna booster (doubtful)or a different type of wire in a headphone will make a difference.
The radio is part of the reason i chose the dinc over a driod

I bought a cheap arm band just for the gym works great wont ruin my phone accidently either.

Tunein Radio. You can listen live to over 40K AM and FM stations, presets too. Direct access to local radio, programming schedule, stream quality, alarms, etc. For me it makes conventional radio on the Android irrelevant.
