OK. I have been tweaking the Droid Eris for ~ 2 weeks now...this morning I ran across an app called Home which supposedly stops cache from building up on the phone. It is a simple app, open it and it says "Home Active - Optimizing Device Memory". There is no other functionality built in.
Since installing this, I would swear that my lag is gone. The HTC Stock Widget moves without the pause, scrolling through apps has NO pauses, moving from screen to screen is smooth, my Gmail is coming through in 10 sec as opposed to 1 min, apps load quickly, browsing on Dolphin is faster than ever and Facebook news feed loads in no time...
Just to give you a snapshot of my environment so that there is an understanding of what is at play here.....
WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth - all off
25 apps loaded outside of stock apps
Toggle Settings app says 118MB/159MB available memory
I would love some feedback from other Android users that understand the inner workings of the Android OS....am I just lucky, does this actually work, and if so, should this be labeled a MUST HAVE app?
