Correct. When you got your phone for free, it was partly due to the contract you agreed to and the plans you signed up for. You agreed to keep a plan of some $$$ level for a certain period of time. Normally this is based on the phone plan and not the data plan, but with all the new smart phones, it may vary. You do not want to be hit with an early termination fee because you tried to say $5
I believe if you change your plan in any way before 6 months into the contract, letstalk will levy an ETF. Like others said, read the contract carefully. You get the phones from letstalk for a reason.
