Am I the only one who loves AT&T?

My captivate is a happy camper under AT&T here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I live in Santa Cruz County, CA and regularly pull in 2.5mbps in town, and 1.5mbps everywhere else. I'm covered more or less everywhere in the Bay Area and Santa Cruz Area, and i can pull in 480p Youtube videos without hiccups, even downloading apps quickly.
I pay $19.40 (with commercial discount) for 2GB of Data, if i pay $40 a month I get 4GB of data & tethering, which is nice.
My call quality is generally good, and the phone holds onto calls well.
The only thing I dislike about AT&T on this phone is all the preloaded apps. :rolleyes:
 
I dislike the preloaded junk on my captivate, but I rooted it, and inspires as well. I have had no problems with ATT for the 6 yrs I have been with them. I have 5 lines and travel from NY to TX both flying and driving and have had no service issues whatsoever. Plus I can upgrade every 6 months if I wanted for all my lines and I was lucky enough to get 3 of my lines grandfathered into unlimited data, my other 2 phones are just basic backups ( razr and Samsung strive). I now get that A list thing too which is great for adding land line numbers so I don't waste minutes and that new unlimited family messaging plan that also includes unlimited mobile to any mobile. I can't find any other company that can give me what I get from ATT at my plan price (~$200/month after taxes). My aunt has Sprint with 5 lines and her bill is close to double mine a month and she has 3 evos and 2 basic phones. But Sprint charges that crap fee of $10 just for owning a smartphone.
 
I live in Atlanta....phone plan based in Detroit.

I strongly dislike ATT and everything they stand for. There are two cell towers within a mile of my home yet i get dropped calls in my bedroom everyday. I get very inconsistent coverage on my college campus and absolutely no bars in some of our buildings. Our plan is expensive and limited and i dont like that they decided not to even begin to give us good androids until Apple decided to stop breast-feeding them (save for the Captivate and all its GPS problems).

However, my bill is mostly free to me and i dont get to make the decisions on where we get our "bars" from. So im kind of stuck here.

I DO appreciate that ATT does not charge extra for our "4G" and doesnt add that same random fee for smartphones. And their customer service isnt quite as bad as i experienced with Verizon.
 
I started out with Cingular, which was then bought out by at&t. I've been with them going on 12 years now.
My husband works construction and travels alot. His company owned phone is through Sprint/Nextel. He does not always have coverage. Drops calls occasionally and often loses signal.
Short but sweet I've had no problem using at&t. I rarely get dropped calls. I'm outside of Indy and at least in central Indiana I have no dropzones or no signal issues. So, for me, it works.. & why fix what ain't broke? :D
 
I love the "coverage" and reception that I get on AT&T, with my Motorola Q, Motorola Defy, and Nokia e72/N900. No issues with service from RI to Northern VA...even get "full bars" inside elevators in some concrete buildings (can't say that with other phones on AT&T, mainly HTC). Plans are a little bit high, but fortunately the $15 unlimited MediaNet plan works for my non AT&T branded phones. I'm also not a fan of the move to metered data. If the buyout gets approved, I'll cancel my AT&T account altogether, continuing only with my T-Mo accounts.
 
I love the 28% corp discount i get with at&t :)

Reception is great in denver and in a few mtns ive personally been to. Cheap family plan with unlimited mobile to ANY mobile. Customer service for me and wife has been good minus the time some a-hole tried to charge me $36/line to change our area codes after moving from LA. He hung up when i asked for his manager :/

Att wireless works good for me overall :)
 
i have no problems with AT&T. I'm a happy camper. You dont hear enough of that, these days. Everyone is always complaining but you dont hear many positive threads.
 
I've had the usual inconveniences like dead zones and dropped calls as well as their convoluted pricing, but overall the service has been satisfactory and for my needs AT&T offers me the full package. I neither love nor hate them, I just pay them for services ... sort of like that girl in Vegas. Oooops, I wasn't supposed to mention that, was I?

If you had unlimited data they can get it back, it was accidentally removed from one of my lines during an upgrade but they opened a claim ticket and 24 hours later I had it back.
 
Live in SW Houston, good coverage so I can't really complain, get 4-6Mbps down on average. Then again every provider has good coverage in Houston except for Crap-Mobile.

Building penetration could be better but I can deal with it. I get full bars at my desk but data speeds drop into the hundreds.
 
I do love them. My customer service experiences have all been above average, the ppl on the phone, for the most part, are extremely helpful. I love my inspire, the speeds are great now! Like between 2-4 up and .5-1.5 down. Not exceptional but I am satisfied! I never have dropped calls, and even get service in rural areas now, which has never happened to me! It is hard to stay under 2 gigs, but I heard Verizon will also soon have tiered data plans.
 
I really like AT&T. The level of service they have provided me is unprecedented in my experience with service companies. Today, I went to a store to exchange my phone because I have having problems with it. They took a quick look at it and gave me a brand new one. Not only that, but they saw that I had a screen protector installed and they offered to order me the exact same skin I was using since they didn't have it in-store. I thought that was too much trouble so instead they offered a different screen protector and even applied it for me. The lady spent several minutes making sure the screen protector was perfect - using tape to clear the dust and lint etc. Then she said if I get another skin, bring it in and she will personally apply it for me since she knows that they can be tricky.

Just this one experience has made me a loyal customer. I don't plan on ever leaving them unless something seriously unsatisfactory happens.

I don't doubt there are a lot of people who would agree with you, but it would be helpful if you would enumerate the reasons for your negative evaluation. I find that people fall into one of four basic categories -- those who have had a bad experience and therefore consider them bad, those who have had a positive experience who consider them good, those who have not had much, if any, experience with customer service and rely on the opinions of others to form an opinion of their own, and those who, regardless of experience, don't particularly care.

Now, bad experiences tend to fall into four basic categories as well. Frustration from the corporate bureaucracy, unreasonable customer expectations, inability to communicate the problem effectively either as a matter of telling it to the CSR or the CSR not being able to understand, or just downright rude behavior on the part of the CSR.

Also you must take into consideration the industry. Is AT&T "the worst" in comparison to other wireless providers or the worst in comparison to all companies? The problem with overgeneralizing is that I can find an equal amount of people to find fault with other companies.
 
I started with Cingular over 10 yrs ago. There's been times that the service has been annoying, but overall I'm very satisfied with my phone and my service.

With both Cingular and then later AT&T, I have generally been happy.

I became quite pissed off at AT&T during 2010 when they were heavily promoting iPhone and way behind the curve on Android. January 2010 they promised five android devices in first half of year. In March they disappointed with the Backflip. To add injury to insult it was loaded with unremovable bloatware, and software was only available from Android market.

By late July I was really outright angry at AT&T's bumbling clown circus inability to get its act together with Android. I was forming a long term plan to move my four lines, data plans, unlimited texting, etc to another carrier.

Given the limited choice, I got a Captivate on August 1 and have been generally happy with it. I was compiling my own apps for it shortly thereafter. I was frustrated at how long it took for the Froyo 2.2 update.

At this point, I'm feeling less angry at AT&T. They seem to be getting their act together with Android.

There is still the fact that they have a separate fee for tethering, even though they charge the exact same amount if you just buy 2 GB of data, and then pay overages for 4 GB. I won't be happy about that until they do away with the tethering charge and just let me buy as much (or as little) data as I want to -- and use it how I want to.

I have two open upgrades on my plan that I could use today. I'm looking at what phone to get next. I'm pleased that there are some good choices. I have workarounds for my other issue.
 
I like AT&T. I get reliable service and they have a great selection of phones. I've been with them a couple of years and if I had to make the choice again, I'd do the same thing. I hate the bloatware carriers load devices with, but now I'm rooted and can change it :).
 
I may hold a record among my friends as to customer loyalty. I started with SunCom which was bought out by AT&T. Then AT&T was bought out by Cingular whiche was the bought out by AT&T again. I have used the "same" company since 1998 or so. I'm sure others have been with a service longer than I, but none of my friends or family have been with the same company for more than 5 years. I think AT&T has duds in their work force, but they have always treated me fairly and corrected any issues I have had in a satisfactory manner.
 
Been with them since Cingular. I have had great coverage both at home and in my travels. Customer service has been very helpful. Get a discount so can't complain about price. Overall I am very satisfied.
 
I used to love my AT&T service when I had a dumphone (Pantech Matrix). When I upgraded to a smartphone (HTC Tilt 2), things got expensive. My plan should have been $89.99 every month (lowest voice plan, unlimited text and data, and phone insurance). My bill would be $125-140 every month. Now I have Sprint's $79.99 Everything Data Plan with $7 TEP and a 20% work discount. After taxes and regulatory fees, it's $77-86 per month.

AT&T lost any hopes of me returning when they started charging overages for going over 2 GB of data.
 
I hear people complain about att all the time but I personally am happy with the reception I get. Whether it's at my home in NJ or when I'm at school in Colorado I usually have 3-5 bars. For now I am a happy camper :)
 
I have been with Cingular, At&t now for 12 years or so. They really provide a good service and are better than they once were. I did get mad at them about 3 years ago and switched to t-mobile for a few months, but that was a disaster as they had no coverage.

In the last few years, all my customer service contacts have been good, the service is good, I have never had allot of dropped calls, etc. My last customer service issue was when I used my old blackberry for a few days because my Streak died and was being replaced by Dell. It apparently downloaded new software of something and since it is just an Edge device, used 190M of my 200M data in 4 hours. I called to complain and they bumped me up to 2G for the month for free.

I haven't had an issue with AT&T either. Data speeds are close to 3.5Mb/s-4Mb/s in my area and they are cheaper than Verizon (and faster :)) so I see no reason to switch.
 
I loved AT&T until my Army son's phone in Afghanistan got slammed with about a $5,000 bill while over there fighting for our country!
