I loved AT&T until my Army son's phone in Afghanistan got slammed with about a $5,000 bill while over there fighting for our country!
did they know he was in the army? if not, then dont blame AT&T for not "hooking him up"
I've been with AT&T since August 2011 (2 weeks). Before that, I was with Sprint since June 2010. I've been on every other carrier including all the prepaid services at some point in the past decade. I also used Vodafone while studying in England, and use Telus at my summer cottage in Canada. I purchased my first smartphone last year through Sprint, the HTC Hero. It was already a year old but the Evo hadn't been released yet. When I got my current job, I wanted to use the corporate discount. Sprint applied it but also added an extra year to my contract and added a $10.00 "4G Fee" to my line. I didn't have a 4G phone and WiMax wasn't yet deployed in my city. This pissed me off, and along with the fact that I wouldn't be upgrade eligible until April 2012, it encouraged me to look at other options.
After browsing tons of reviews, I decided on the Motorola Atrix 4G. It has been around 2 weeks and I don't regret the decision. The speed, screen size, and form factor are perfect. Since I've had a GSM handset before, I knew that dropped calls would increase due to "hard handoff". I've dropped a few calls so far, but my data speeds have greatly increased. AT&T has much better coverage than Sprint, especially in rural areas. I don't care about unlimited data, since I average around 1.5GB/Month and use Wi-Fi at home. I use AT&T Enterprise customer service, and my experiences thus far have been excellent.
In conclusion, I'm very happy with AT&T at the moment and envision staying with them for many years to come.
While I wouldn't say I "love" them, I have been pretty impressed with the customer service I have gotten from them. Last month I cancelled my iPhone because I wanted to go to Verizon and get the Thunderbolt. After realizing how expensive Verizon I decided to go back. I was able to call At&t and not wait on hold forever (which was a common occurance with Verizon) and get it all worked out and fixed. I went and got my $49 Atix upgrade and have been very pleased.
