am not able to transfer my data through date cable

I have a Xolo B700 mobile . it runs on android ICS

When i connect data cable with my phone and laptop . It starts to charge my phone but it doesn't automatically give the signs which it usually gave before ..

and by signs i mean , when cable is connected it ll show some symbols in the top left and ll ask to select usb mass storage or something like that .


but now it never shows such things . it simply begins to charge no symbols or signs or anything whatsoever

i didn't remember how long its been like this but it must be like for past 4 to 6 months

and i didn't paid much attention towards it as i didn't needed data transfer through usb in the past 4 to 6months ..

what might be the issue .. is there anything i can do with settings ?

Well an important point is, i did gave my phone to a service center few months ago as i had charging problems but the service center didn't rectified the issue properly(but they did tried something ) and so i had to go for another service center , there they told me the issue is with my charger so i bought new charger and it all started working fine(i mean charging issue resolved)..but i have this file transfer issue right now ..

Try a different USB cable and/or different USB port on your PC for starters.

Make sure when your device connects that it isn't connected as "Installer" you can choose by clicking on the installer and change it to "Media" (MTP). This will allow you to browser your device.

Also make sure the correct drivers are installed.
