Amazon App Store Got Their Hooks In Me

I deleted Amazon App Store app a couple of days ago to free up space. I figured I could always re-install it if there were any new apps from Amazon that I wanted. To my surprise, the next time I went to run Pocket Cast, which I had downloaded from Amazon App Store, it displayed a message that Amazon App Store app had to be installed for it to run!

This sucks! I assume that any software downloaded from Amazon will require their app store software to be in place. Wish I had realized this sooner. I did re-install the software and Pocket Cast, which was a free download, did start running again. But when Pocket Cast comes out with an update I'll have to purchase the app (because they've pulled their software from Amazon) I'll be re-purchasing either directly or through the Android Marketplace.
 
No thanks, but my point is that any software should run independent of any kind of app store used to download it. It's like saying that I have to keep the account open for a credit card I used to buy something if I want to continue to use it.
 
If you buy a couch with your credit card you can't take it home and make copies of the couch and give it to your friends even if you close the credit card account.

Thanks for assuming I'm a criminal and that my intentions are to steal software. Actually I was more interested in freeing up a few precious megabytes on my phone.
