Amazon Pricing for phone upgrades increased

I upgraded my existing phone for a Droid on 4/7/10 and it cost me $69.99. A friend of mine wanted to upgrade her phone and went to Amazon to do it but the price of the phone increased to $129.99!! Glad didn't wait!!

It's $19.99 for brand new Verizon customers. If you are an existing customer, you have to select Upgrade My Phone and it changes to $129.99

My fiance and I are on a family plan and both got the Droid while it was buy one, get one free...$200 for hers and mine was free. lol

Price for new accounts went up to $50 today. Don't know why.

I did a lot of research on the Amazon Wireless site and was prepared to order a phone through them and I SWEAR the price changed from $19.99 for an existing customer to $129. If I had seen $129, I wouldn't have bothered to look into it any further.

Bummer.

When looking to order my droid, I saw the same shift in price (I am upgrading with a family plan). Last weekend, Wirefly ran a deal for 19.99 to upgrade as an existing customer. I could not believe it, and jumped. It was legit, and I am playing with the phone as we speak. Perhaps it is worth checking various sites regularly...and jump when the price gets in the range you are looking for?


Oh...and wirefly threw in a bluetooth headset as well...not a big deal, but kind of nice none-the-less.
