Amazon prime vs Netflix

Looking to get a video streaming service but unsure of which to get need some advice from current subscriber's.

I had the amazon prime 30 day trial.
I didn't care for the music service I use Google play music and love it.
The shipping is nice but I used it once in the 30 day trial and see maybe using it several times out of the year!
I did enjoy the movie service and watched the entire sons of anarchy and could see using it daily and for several hours.
I had Netflix trial a long time ago close to a year ago.
I don't remember much..

Netflix has more to shows/movies to offer... they have reduced in big name movies.. adding a lot of international stuff.
$108 / year = 12 months x $9

Amazon has more "other" services as you already stated: Movies, Music, Storage, Shopping, delivery.
$99 / year

based on your stated usage... I would think the small amount of streaming you use..
Amazon would meet your needs best...

there are a lot of devices that amazon sells that come with 1 year prime for free.
if you are already in the market for some of these.. then even better.

Netflix is much better overall. I have both.
Netflix has more content although they remove/add things regularly.
Amazon seems to charge for almost everything that Netflix doesn't have.

I have both services. I do most of my online shopping through Amazon; and with the free shipping, it is usually comparable to other online vendors.

Dngrswife spends equal time watching movies and shows from both Netflix and Amazon. As others have said, Netflix has a wider variety, but if you buy things from Amazon regularly, as well as music or ebooks, then Prime is a good value.

For streaming? Netflix wins. Most of Amazon's offerings are already available on Netflix.

My shopping however, has almost paid for my Prime membership.

Netflix is also better for streaming because you can ACTUALLY USE IT ON ANY DEVICE.

Amazon is in a dead race with Apple to be as closed as they can. They won't support chromecast, their app isn't available on a lot of smart tv's/blu-ray players, they only recently allowed you to stream on an Android tablet, etc.

I have both as well.

Honestly, I hardly ever watch anything on Amazon. I can use it with Roku but unless I have my sound bar set manually to stereo I get no sound. I do watch a few things but mostly use Netflix.
