Help Amazon Prime

Ok I know I'm being a bit cheeky posting this here but Amazon do make apps!!
So I signed up for the free month of Amazon Prime (just coz I wanted my keyboard next day(ish) lol)

My question is, when my month ends, will I be warned and offered the chance to continue it or will they just start charging me?

They will charge your credit card the full amount for a year...no warning, no nothing.
Trust me, I just did it.
And if you use any of the benefits associated with Prime, you cannot get a refund.
You have to cancel it before the year is out :(

Edit: Let me clarify...I got the free trial for the same reason you did, and that is how I read the TOS.

I didn't know that, but I assumed that was the deal, at least in the US. I'm not sure if there are different consumer protection laws on your side of the pond though Funky. Anyone in Scotland know about this?
 
Just cancel a day or two before the free trial expires & you'll be OK (a phone call may be best).
If you fail to do so,as previously posted,you will be charged for a years' worth of Prime.
I found that out 1st hand.
Prime delivery is good for some,YMMV,but,in my experience,it wasn't.
I was dissatisfied enough to cut it early & asked for a pro-rated refund.
They were actually pretty cool about it & refunded the entire years' fees.
YMMV,so,just be sure you want to continue & circle the day on the calendar,so to speak,before they make the decision for you................

As I recall instant video is in the Amazon store.

Wife lives on it at home, I don't watch videos so much. If you don't need two day delivery, oftentimes you can waive the two day delivery for a credit for music or ebooks.
 
I've been thinking about ordering a Kindle Paperwhite and signing up for the Prime trial. Besides the shipping and instant video, they also have ad-free music streaming, a Kindle lending library, and a free book every month.

BTW, have you guys heard about Prime Day? Supposed to have better deals than Black Friday.

It is OK. It is only available on Kindle Fire devices running android, or laptops, iDevices, or anything else not running Android. From that perspective Amazon is spitting in the eye of the rest of the Android ecosystem.:(

Will it not work by loading the app onto Android devices?
The Amazon AppStore is showing it's compatible w/all my (Android) devices.

I'm not a Prime member,got the app to load,but,it puts me in a semi-loop,prompting me to either load the Amazon AppStore (which I already have),or,proceed to Prime Instant Video,which is a browser link to Amazon......
 
Hi everybody, I don't know if anybody needs this info but here goes. For anyone who wants the instant streaming app. You apparently need to have / install the Amazon app and then the instant streaming app. It's a pain to me. After my 30 days and the kids finish annedroids (the show) I'm cancelling too much of a pain I'll stick with Netflix. Sorry for the mini rant. Thank you,

I had the GooglePlayStore version of AMAZON loaded up.
I proceeded to load the one from the Amazon App Store & now it appears you can purchase (free w/Prime) & presumably,watch/play movies on Android devices.

THX again,& while this may not be news to all,I learned something today.
 
I have The Amazon Instant Video app on my PS3 as well as my Samsung "smart" tv.

Just checked the Amazon App Store app, and the Prime Instant Video app is in there. I assume no Chromecast support?

I signed up for the 6 month free trial for students during my last semester of college. Used it for some free shipping for textbooks and then forgot about it. Fast forward 6 months I saw a $39.99 charge on my card from Amazon. I then realized that because I hadn't cancelled, they charged me for a a whole year upon the expiration of my trial. I didn't bother to dispute it as it was only $39.99(and I bought a laptop right after that....I saved a about $100 by using prime). I renewed it again this year at $49.99 because I was still technically a student(took a few credits from community college to hit my 150 credit hour requirement for CPA).

I'll probably not renew it in January, as it will then be $99. I don't watch anything on Instant Video, as it's pretty well covered by Netflix.
 
Cheers for all the info guys. I'll try getting the instant video on my android tv box tomorrow and check it out :thumbsupdroid:
(does it work on rooted devices? Aparently apps think my brand new untouched Android box is rooted) :(
