Help Amazons' Audiobooks malware

Hi All,

I'm a n00b at android, so apologies if I have posted to the wrong forum. I have a Chinese smartphone styled on a Samsung Galaxy S6 called an M6 (JIAKE) according to the phones information. It is running android 4.4.2. Yesterday, a whole load of apps/malware appeared. Mainly games which I 'force stopped' and 'disabled'. One very annoying one is the ad from Amazons' Audiobooks, inviting me to download their app. This keeps coming up on screen and locking the phone when I try to login to my Google account.

I removed the SD card and scanned it with ESETs' Smart Security 8. It found dozens of trojans!

I removed the sim card and inserted it in my old smartphone and this works perfectly. My M6 however still exhibits the same malware problem. I have completed a factory reset several times but cannot get rid of this audiobooks ad.

How do I get my phone back?

Cheers

Gary

Well a fake Samsung from China likely had the adware pre-installed. Besides Amazon Audiobooks, you probably got offered Game of War and Clean Master as well. Best thing is send it back for a refund I think. Because there's not a lot you can do about it otherwise, it's in system.

"We do you nice deal on iPhone 6S as well"

FYI someone last week rooted their phone with some Chinese root tool, and got horrible ads as a result. They're either now re-flashing a factory ROM, if they can, or buying a new phone.

Hi Mike,

I've had the phone for 6 months now without problems. It's a really nice phone. Yes, I got several games as well, plus pornclub! Is it possible to re-flash the rom via usb?

Cheers

ps.

I didn't buy audiobooks from amazon. The ad just appeared inviting me to install but it doesn't, it just stops the phone until you can get it back to the front page.
