How do you delete them once they are resolved?

As far as I know, we don't. I suppose they'll eventually roll off... but that's a great question for your local emergency management agency. Let us know what they say

Once you turn them off, they are off for good.

Thanks @puppykickr. It's possible but I just tried stopping it from 'overlaying other apps'. God forgive I get another one but I'll soft reset later tonight and see what happens.

There is no app for amber alerts. It uses a technology called cell broadcasting. Certain cell towers will get turned on and any phone within the cell tower range will recieved the alert. On my note 10+ you can turn on or off the alert. Among other things since the cell broadcast can be used for other things other then amber alerts

Edit: settings>connections>more connections>emergency alerts>amber alerts

Actually, at least on my devices (7.1.1 & 8.1.0) there IS a system app called 'Cell Broadcast) that can be force stopped.
I actually use a firewall to block all online access to it.

On my 8.0.0, I do have settings for emergency broadcasts, including AMBER alerts:

The only things you cannot turn off are presidential alerts.

Mine is Wireless Emergency Alerts also. LG G7. I guess I need to drill down through the menus. It's still there.

Turns out uf you open that app (The icon in Settings on my LG G7 ThinQ says Emergency Alerts but when you tap on it it says Wireless Emergency Alerts on the title bar) you can just hold down on the Alert and choose Delete.
