Help Ambient Light Sensor Blinking Red on my HTC

Hi I own a HTC Incredible S and only just now i notice that the ambient light sensor is blinking red during a call. But once the call end, there won't be any light.
Previously I don't see the blinking red only now i see it. Restarting the phone doesn't fix it.
Can anyone help me? Is it normal to have blinking red light during a call?

Hmm, are you sure its the light sensor, and not the proximity sensor? The proximity sensor is infrared I believe, and some people's eyes can see the ir light, that might be what you are seeing.

But anyway, if you dont like it, or think its not suppsed to do that, take it back to where you bought it, and look at another phone to see if it does it too. You are still within your exchange period I believe.

No longer, it just end....sigh...how many times must i sent for exchange. It shouldn't be blinking every time during a call.

Actually, if it IS the proximity sensor, it SHOULD be blinking every time you get a call. The blinking reflects off of your face, and back to the proximity sensor, telling the phone that you have it close to your head.

It's just that you're one of the very few that can actually see it blinking. The rest of us can't.

The red light is a lot more obvious than before. It started when an sms come in during a call and i hold the call to read the sms, i couldn't coz the screen keep turning on and off. Only then i notice the red light blinking.

In the old days Handcent did some funky things to the alert LEDs on Desires, do you have Handcent installed on your IS?
Mine blinks green for alert and red for low battery.

I notice this on my droid incredible 2. There's a faint orange/red light that blinks rapidly only while on a call. Whether you have your face to the phone or not, it still blinks. It seems like it is the proximity sensor. It doesn't seem like it affects the phone at all, but I still want to find out if this is normal for this device. My droid x and droid eris didn't do this.

Humans can't see IR. It's outside of the visible light spectrum.
