Help American HTC M8 software issues, help please

Hi I have an American HTC M8, which was working great until the last software update abt 3 month ago, since that, GPS fails, internet fails, screen is poor in movement, apps freeze, its gone from being a brilliant phone to a nightmare phone, I have done at least a dozen hard resets and everyday have to restart phone a 6 - 10 times.

Have spoken with HTC and they tell me it is software conflicts, being the US software is slightly different to the UK software, and each time I get an update it messes it up a little more ? also calls randomly drop, again they put this down to US frequency being slightly different to UK......basically HTC Uk have said phone has had it and will only get worse over time. So was wondering if anyone has any Ideas how to get over these problems ? possibly rooting ?

Firstly, UK frequencies are not "slightly different" from US. The US bands don't work in the UK and vice-versa. But the phone supports both (though probably not as many UK bands as a UK phone would). So the frequency argument is garbage - if it were true the phone would not work for visitors from the States. As for the rest, you should presumably be getting updates for the US software, not UK updates - UK updates on a US phone certainly would cause problems.

So, options? You could flash the phone completely with US software. If there is a conflict then a clean flash should fix it. Can you tell us your current software version and what the original US network was? That will help identify the right software package.

Root and a custom Rom might help, but as it is currently messed up I'd be inclined to try a clean flash first.
