ok i must of done something wrong but i installed amon ra 2.3 and everytime i go into the hboot screen i have to update it, and now i am about to flash a new rom and do i need to do another nandroid backup everytime i update it?

Go to the PC36IMG file and rename it or delete it. Hboot is trying to flash it every time you go there.

You should make a nandroid before you make any changes to your phone. You can move old ones to your computer or delete some of them if your sdcard starts to get full

what do you see on your sdcard when you connect your phone as a disk drive? Astro says your sdcard is empty? Try ES explorer.

well when i connect it to my computer its there but not when astro comes up. i just deleted it right from my computer and loaded hboot screen and its good i think but should i do another nandroid backup? i did one last time i was in the recovery so should i be ok?

You should be good then. Always, always make a nandroid before making any changes to your phone. If you made one recently and haven't made any changes then you should be good. The only thing you would lose is game progress and any apps you installed since you nandroided and any sms messages if you don't use a backup program for them.

Also, Amon backups aren't compatible with clockwork so definitely make a nandroid before doing anything else.
