Apps An app that pages a device to beep

Is it possible to make an app that will page a device to cause it to beep without using Bluetooth? Similar to how cordless home phones could page the phone to beep I'd it was lost. There are several apps that offer this such as tile. Using Bluetooth to do this seems to be unreliable and offers poor range.

...Well it all depends on the devices capabilities. THere are only a few communication methods with the phone: BT, Wi-Fi, NFC, Cellular. What device are you trying to get to "beep"?

It would be a device that could be made to receive the signal from the phone within a given radius about the size of a home?
