An app which can launch an EXE on a remote PC?

Hi guys,

Is there any app out there which can simply just act as a shortcut link to launch an EXE file on a remote PC?

(I am looking for something which, with 1 click, can launch XBMC on my PC so that I don't have to go over to the PC and use the mouse etc.)

lazy?-- maybe! But I saw it as quite an easy task so maybe there is an app for it out there?

(note: I'm not really looking for any full-blown remote desktop software requiring me to log-into the PC, use the virtual mouse to launch the exe manually).

cheers if you're able to help,
have a good day! :)

A program to run an .exe file remotely.

It could be written but you would need to install a program on the PC that would run in the background, receve the signal from the app and launch the program. (your PC isn’t young to listen to just any old request to run a file)

Your virus scanner will be all over this, hope you can call it off.

My preference would be simply not to turn of XBMC but I have a personal file server I can leave media servers running 24/7 without affecting my game performance

Vectir looks powerful enough for this task

I still miss salling clicker which was an awesome remote control app for symbian, palmos and a few others

Thanks for all the reply's guys.

Hernan, the screenshot you showed.. I cannot see the power button- but I know the one you refer to (it's available when the app is in landscape mode).

I have never messed with that button myself.

It was my assumption that it was simply there to shut-down/hibernate the PC/close XBMC once you press it. -but schlacter101 says it is actually to boot the XBMC initially? - if so, this is fantastic, just what I need. Can someone verify?

Also schlacter101 "maybe the service is not turning on on your windows" -what service are you referring to?
