The Galaxy Tab P1000 produces MP4 video clips which are incompatible with Windows Movie Maker but can be converted using the free "Quick Media Converter" available here which produces large good quality 1024*600 WMV files:

To avoid DVD burning errors load the pictures and clips into Movie Maker and burn the DVD from there. Wait for Movie Maker to ask for a blank DVD to be loaded during the process.

I have discovered that movies made from WMV clips using Windows Movie Maker suffer from freezing and missing footage. So I am now using Windows Live Movie Maker which seems to solve the problem and produces a Movie that can be burned to a DVD using Windows DVD Maker.
