Hi to all android fans, users,... etc. My name is Marko, and I've been android fan since the day I found out of it's existence.
My brother, bought HTC Hero few days ago after I introduced him to a Android system and showed him power of Android OS. Phone is in every aspect remarkable except that it is in price range of mid end computer or low end lap-top which is diverting me from buying one right now.
Now we just reached point of this topic, I searched and didnt find nothing similar so here it is: Does good OS must have pricey hardware or we can accomplish most of functionality with some cheap cloned phones if we manage to squize android OS in?
Let me elaborate...
I do not need most of functions that Android phones now have.
- Touch screen is essential and it is needed for this os, but multitouch option doesn't worth the price.
- GPS wont matter to me much
- No need for High res camera any camera will do. (I use phone for comunicating with people and that means calls, sms,...)
- No need for accelerometer cause its main value is in entertainment and I dont play much games on phones.
I dont use 3G, Edge, bluetooth,... tehnologies. They are irrelevant for me.
etc
etc
etc
Recently I found that there are lots of Iphone clones from China available. Their main features are: touch screen(which cannot be compared to android phones touch screen but its sufficient), dual sim, multiple band, some of them have WiFi, some of them have accelerometer, and almost all use windows which is moded to look like some other os, like Iphone os or android,...
If one should be satisfied with that hardware(considering that price is much lower than that of a android phone), would it be a good idea to port Android OS to such phone and use only those options that are available to you and that you need?
Now I dont seek for answers, I need to know what do you think about this idea is it worth it? How can be accomplished? Is it better to w8 for low priced android phones like HTC Tatoo instead?
Android is (in my humble opinion) among the best OS ever made for mobile phones, does it have to be tied up to only android phones?
Sorry for bad English, looking forward for your replies.
